Anthony Ohannessian

Tony Ohannessian is thrilled to perform with the Valley Winds! Currently, Tony is the director of middle school bands in Longmeadow, MA.

Tony hails from multiple parts of the country, having lived and taught in the Southwest, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and, now, New England. After earning his Bachelor degree in Music Education at the University of Delaware, Tony accepted an assistantship to earn his Master’s degree in Trombone at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

In addition to teaching, Tony continues to perform actively in the area, with such groups as the New England Repertory Orchestra, the Mercury Orchestra, the Pennsylvania Philharmonic, the New Hampshire Philharmonic, the New England Brass Band, Amherst Symphony Orchestra, and the Metropolitan Wind Symphony.

His past teachers include Greg Spiridopoulos, Bruce Tychinski and Robert Streckfuss.

Outside of music, Tony enjoys sampling fine cheeses, studying foreign languages, and spending time with his poodles, Zoe and Parker.
