Dr. Kara Peterman is a structural engineering professor at UMass Amherst, and has been a clarinetist with the Valley Winds since 2016. Kara is also the principal clarinetist of the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra and serves as the President of the PVS’s Board of Directors.

Kara lives in Amherst with her husband Scott and their big orange cat Monty.
